Is the cup half empty or half full?

I am so sorry to announce that I will not be able to make it to class today.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

You decide!!

The schedule goes on as planned except for a slight change.

BIS

You are to complete the remaining slides from chapter 2
on your own or in groups.

Either way you are responsible for the material.

Be prepared for a test on Friday.

No if- buts - you should be responsible enough to do this.
I am counting on you to still do well on the test. After all we only have a few slides left so it should be mainly review.

INT

You are the lucky ones - or are you ??
Your test scheduled for today will be given on Friday.
Use this time to prepare.

I mean it.
Do not waste time - if you do you will regret it.

Review the files that I gave you "student notes 1 -2 -3.

I must admit that I am impressed with the work
that has been submitted after all.

I look forward to more good work from you.

Keep it up.

Note when you are bad I tell you and when you are good...
I also let you know.

So good job!!

Please continue reading chapter two from your book as the test on Friday will be from that chapter.

Remember we have a schedule to keep and it is in YOUR best interest to have us complete the entire book as is our goal this semester.

I am aware that all the practical exercises you have been exposed to
has been out of class and will surely take that into consideration.
On that note - the test will focus on the theory aspect of the chapter.

Therefore the test will be directly from the review questions. Sooo..

review all of the 2.1 -2.31

Format short and sweet MC and T/F and fill in the Blanks - short and sweet!!
If and only if you are prepared... Aha!!

MIS

Information technology departments in larger organizations tend to strongly influence information technology development, use, and application in the smaller business or corporations.

System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a systematic procedure of developing an information system through sequential stages.

System development is done in stages which include:
• Problem recognition and specification
• Information gathering
• Requirements specification for the new system
• System design
• System construction
• System implementation
• Review and maintenance

Note then, that I was pleased to see that some form of research was done in preparing your outline as will be adhering to a structure as listed above.

Although in our previous discussion we have made presumptions/assumptions as to what the problem may be we need to confirm this to be so.

It is only in confirming the requirements of the proposed MIS that we can proceed to satisfy it. This justifies the need for the proposed interviews/discussions.

Of note is that no companies were yet selected. I recommend that you select companies large enough for the gathered information to be useful. I would like for you to make contact with 2 different business places and arrange to interview the person in charge of Human Resources. This is in order for you to get a feel of what is currently being used and what business' want. Explain the purpose of your proposed visit and what you hope to accomplish. Prepare a document containing the target questions and schedule meeting time/date. make sure its a good time for all involved.

Enjoy your Day!!!
