Information Technology and BIS Students
Take note of the following assignments due this week.
For Classes on the MWF schedule the assignment 1 is for Monday 2 for Wednesday and 3 Friday
For classes on the T TU schedule the assignments 1 is for Tuesday then both and 2 &3 is due on Thursday.
These have absolutly nothing to due with the make up assignments that are STILL DUE on the appointed time. If you have any questions call me 607-4585.
Assignment 1
We have reviewed the computer information processing cycle.
Input
Output
Processing
Storage
Communication
Your assignment is to research 5 hardware examples for each indicated by bold lettering.
Be careful and avoid putting regular boring devices, familiar devices. To recap what I said in class- I do not want any assignment that looks like High School work. No monitors, mouse, keyboard. Hmm..
Remember to include pictures and a short description of what the hardware actually does/is used for/purpose.
Assignment 2
Research System and Application software.
For system software I want various types and what they are best suited for. (Network/handheld/PC etc.)
For Application software I want major categories with a breakdown of the various section as well as a minimum of three examples for each type.
I cannot stress enough that what you gain from a research is highly dependent on the effort you put into it. It’s like a bank account what you put in you get out. Don’t expect to get a lot if you do not apply yourself.
Assignment 3
Emerging Technologies:
You are to research a new emerging technology in your field of interest.
Report the following:
What it is.
What it does.
What is the cost.
Is training required.
Where It can be purchased.
What are the beifits of this device.
Can it be misused? How?
Give an actual example of it being used in our society today by a prospective business or institution. (Explain fully)
If possible bring a clip to demonstrate the products capabilities.
If you bring a clip be sure that it is already downloaded and placed the appropriate folder before report time, so that it can be viewed by the class. (Check with the lab monitor: Mr. Imer Rosado for assistance) He will be happy to assist.
